LAEW is designed to run directly on your own computer, using locally operated AI models while keeping external online services optional.

This approach was chosen to give users greater control over their experience, keep their information closer to home, and reduce reliance on external platforms. Performance depends on the user's hardware and chosen AI models.

⚫ Data Handling

LAEW does not collect, transmit, or store user interaction data on external servers. There is no telemetry, behavioral tracking, or hidden analytics layer.

Any files, prompts, or documents processed by the system remain on the local device unless explicitly exported by the user.

⮞ The system is built around this idea: your data remains your data.

⚫ Connectivity Requirements

Certain features can optionally connect to external services when enabled by the user, such as:

• Downloading AI models (e.g. via Ollama)
• Accessing user-requested external resources

These actions are always initiated by the user and never run silently in the background.

⚫ User Control & Exportability

LAEW is designed so that users retain control over their generated content and research materials. When operating locally without an internet connection, content remains entirely within the user's own environment.

Any logs, notes, or research outputs can be exported manually by the user. No hidden synchronization and no remote backup mechanisms exist.

⚫ Application Limitations

While LAEW prioritizes privacy and local operation, all users should be aware of the following important considerations:

• External AI model downloads require an active internet connection.
• Third-party models may be subject to their own licensing requirements and usage constraints in some cases.
• User-generated exports and any information shared through them remain under the user's responsibility.
• When using third-party internet browsers or commercial AI services for inquiries and research, users should carefully review the providers' published terms and conditions, including their policies regarding personal data handling, to understand their respective responsibilities and practices.
